Have you been getting the sense that the entire impeachment affair is nothing more than a show?

This story suggests that’s really all it is. Democrats are trying to influence public opinion through emotion.

The Washington Free Beacon reports:

PBS Correspondent: Dems Hoping for Tearful Impeachment Hearings

PBS White House correspondent Yamiche Alcindor said congressional Democrats are looking for emotional witnesses to get viewers invested in impeachment proceedings.

Alcindor told MSNBC host Andrea Mitchell that Democrats are hoping to make viewers “emotionally attached” to this week’s impeachment hearings by bringing “blockbuster witnesses,” including one who cried during her deposition. She also told Mitchell that Democratic aides considered the Robert Mueller testimony about the Russia investigation a failure due to a lack of emotion.

“They want Marie Yovanovitch to be there because I’m told she cried during her deposition,” Alcindor said during an appearance on MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell Reports. “So she’s really someone there to be emotional so that people can feel sympathetic.”

Alcindor argued Yovanovitch’s emotion could help send the message to the public that government officials “were actual victims” of Trump’s policies.

The media is positively giddy about this. They’re even preempting regular programming to cover it.

Deadline reports:

ABC, NBC Announce Lineups for Impeachment Hearing Coverage

All of the major broadcast networks will pre-empt regular programming on Wednesday and Friday for coverage of the first public hearings of the impeachment inquiry.

ABC and NBC announced their lineups for the hearings on Monday, joining CBS and PBS, which announced their plans last week.

The hearings will start on Wednesday with Bill Taylor, pictured, and George Kent testifying, followed by Marie Yovanovitch on Friday. They all have previously testified in closed-door hearings.

ABC News’ coverage will feature chief anchor George Stephanopoulos, World News Tonight anchor David Muir, chief White House correspondent Jonathan Karl, senior White House correspondent Cecilia Vega, senior congressional correspondent Mary Bruce, chief Justice correspondent Pierre Thomas, senior national correspondent Terry Moran, chief legal analyst Dan Abrams and contributor Kate Shaw. Muir will anchor World News Tonight from Washington starting on Wednesday.

It’s all just a show to these people.

All because they lost an election and won’t accept it.
