A Wisconsin inmate, who is transgender and a repeat sex offender, added another unrealistic identity to his record as he awaited trial for murder.
Thursday in Waukesha, Wisconsin, 35-year-old Adam Hetke was handed down his third conviction for sexual assault, this time for the abuse of a 16-year-old girl with cognitive disabilities. With his sentencing forthcoming, the man who claimed to be a woman named “Sabrina” is also facing charges for the murder of another cognitively disabled person — while referring to himself as a vampire.
As detailed by the Waukesha County Freeman, Hetke had only been out of prison for about five months on supervised release in April 2021 when he had allegedly strangled 28-year-old Vydale Thomspon-Moody to death with an electric cord, telling police the victim was “possessed by a demon” who’d been stabbing himself with tongs.
A few months after the incident that had occurred at Hetke’s Milwaukee home, “Sabrina,” or “Morrigan” as he had referred to himself at other times, encountered his 16-year-old victim at a Waukesha gas station on July 6, 2021, went to her home, and sexually assaulted her while threatening her with a knife until she fled by jumping out of her bedroom window.
“Victim A said that the Defendant ‘told her that he was a vampire and that he would bite her if she didn’t do what he wanted,” a filing in Waukesha County Circuit Court detailed.
The Freeman reported that the jury deliberated for under two hours before convicting Hetke of both first-degree sexual assault by threatening the use of a dangerous weapon and second-degree sexual assault of a mentally ill victim.
Hetke’s history of sexual assault stretched at least as far back as 2007, when he had been convicted of second-degree assault of a female staff member at a housing facility whom he attempted to physically remove the clothes of and grope.
In Jan. 2016, a statement from the Waukesha County Sheriff’s Office disclosed the release of the man considered a “high probability to reoffend” as he was listed as a lifetime registrant of the sex offender list and placed under GPS monitoring.
A 2019 conviction for fourth-degree sexual assault in 2019 preceded his Nov. 2020 release where it was noted that he had begun referring to himself as “Sabrina.”
In looking ahead to a June 7 sentencing for his latest sexual assault conviction, Hetke awaits the trial for the alleged murder of Thomspon-Moody whose mother had played an integral role in bringing charges.
“Vydale would have wanted me to be persistent,” Serena Thompson had said at the time to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. “I will never give up on him.”
Though initially questioned and held, Hetke had been discharged on administrative release, only to admit later, allegedly, to killing Thompson-Moody and, according to witness statements filed with the court, had boasted that God could not resurrect the victim, but he could, “because I’m the devil.”
Thompson’s efforts to speak with others on the night of her son’s murder and turn over recorded conversations to the police ultimately led to Hetke’s homicide charges, but not before he could commit the sexual assault of the teen girl.
The lack of outrage over the assaults and the alleged murder raised the specter of leftist bias as one social media account wondered, particularly over Thomspon-Moody, “Where is BLM now? You won’t hear a peep from them. Intersectionality = white man can torture and murder a black disabled man, without protest, if the white dude identifies as a transgender vampire.”
