REPORT: Disgraced NFL star–fired after rape, threat allegations–ready for ‘next opportunity’

DailyMail:

Antonio Brown’s NFL career is hanging in the balance after he was dropped by the New England patriots on Friday over rape allegations.

The scandal-hit athlete tried to maintain relations with the Super Bowl winners and sweeten his reputation by tweeting, after he was fired, that he was grateful for the opportunity he’d been shown.

The article goes on to state the following:

His agent has also said he is ‘looking forward to the next opportunity’ but it remains to be seen where that chance will come from.

“Brown, 31, allegedly hired gymnast Britney Taylor, who he knew from attending Central Michigan University, to be his personal trainer in June 2017, according to the lawsuit filed in the Southern District of Florida,” NBC News reports. “Taylor, 28, alleges that Brown sexual assaulted her twice that month and then again in May 2018.”

Brown was dropped by the Patriots and by Nike on Friday.

ESPN reports:

The New England Patriots released embattled wide receiver Antonio Brown on Friday, less than two weeks after signing him.

“We appreciate the hard work of many people over the past 11 days, but we feel that it is best to move in a different direction at this time,” the team said in a statement.

Text messages sent by Brown to a woman alleging sexual misconduct were viewed by some in the organization to have crossed the line, a source told ESPN.

The second sexual misconduct allegation was brought against Brown by a female artist who was working in his home in 2017. Sports Illustrated reported Monday that there were “domestic incidents involving Brown, a charity auction theft and multiple unpaid debts,” according to ESPN.

A lawyer for the artist sent the NFL text messages allegedly sent by Brown which were described as “threatening.”

Sports Illustrated reports, “On Wednesday night, the woman says, she received a group text message that appeared to come from the same phone number Brown provided to her in 2017. The text chain, with four other phone numbers on it, included photos of her and her children, with the person she believes is Brown encouraging others in the group to investigate the woman.”

The league “pledged to conduct a thorough investigation under its Personal Conduct Policy” on Friday.
