Department for Culture, Media, and Sport – Tate Gallery Trustees (x4)
“Tate holds the national Collection of British art and of international modern and contemporary art, currently comprising over 75,000 works (excluding library and archive items). It comprises four galleries: Tate Modern, Tate Britain, Tate Liverpool and Tate St Ives and has a significant digital, national and international presence. Tate is looking for four new Trustees, an Artist trustee, Commercial and Media trustee, Youth Engagement trustee and a Commercial/Business/Property trustee. At least one of these appointments will bring representation from beyond London.”

“Imperial War Museums (IWM) wishes to appoint three new Trustees. The first will be someone with finance / business skills and the second will be an artist or individual with in-depth, professional knowledge and understanding of the contemporary art world. The third will have experience in public engagement and outreach practices. These appointments are made by the Prime Minister…Members of the Board have corporate responsibility for the general management and control of the Museum, subject to the terms set out in the Imperial War Museum Acts (1920 and 1955), subsequent amending legislation and other governing documents. “The Science Advisory Council (SAC) is a Non Departmental Public Body (NDPB) which provides independent and scientific support, advice and challenge to Defra. The SAC’s remit is broad and focuses primarily on the strategic direction of the Departments’ evidence. It delivers independent high-level, cross cutting, strategic advice and challenge to help assure the evidence used in Defra policy development and delivery and to this end, diversity of thought within the members is encouraged… We are looking for a Chair who has the right qualities to take responsibility for the leadership and output of SAC. In doing so, the Chair will work in partnership with the CSA and SAC members to ensure SAC is able to provide high-level, strategic advice and constructive challenge on Defra’s use of evidence on high profile policies (often at pace) and on cross cutting and longer term challenges relating to the environment, food and rural affairs.”
