On Monday, left-leaning Judge Juan Merchan published a seven-page questionnaire for prospective jurors on Donald Trump’s “hush money” trial on April 15.
The questionnaire has 42 questions, revealing the judge’s intentions to form a jury with preconceived bias against the former president.
The questionnaire asked jurors to identify which “print publications, cable and/or network programs, or online media” they consume.
Among the choices were the New York Times, USA Today, Huffington Post, Facebook, New York Post, Fox News, or Newsmax.
Another question asks prospective members of the jury if they have a relative or a close friend who “ever worked or volunteered for a Trump presidential campaign, the Trump presidential administration, or any other political entity affiliated with Mr. Trump.”
The questionnaire also probed potential jurors if they “ever attended a Trump rally or campaign event” and “if they follow Trump on social media.”
Merchan even asked the juror’s “opinions about how Mr. Trump is being treated in this case.”
Worse, he wanted them to disclose if they were involved with the Proud Boys, Oath Keepers, QAnon, and Antifa.
On all these questions, Judge Merchan, whose daughter’s law firm has Biden as their client and his wife working for New York AG Letitia James, noted that there will be “no questions asking prospective jurors whom they voted for or intend to vote for, or whom they have made political contributions to.”
Also, jurors will not be asked for their party registration, but the judge remarked that this will reflect on their answers to the question.
He also warned Trump’s counsel “not to seek to expand the degree of intrusion beyond what is relevant and has already been approved.”
The release of the questions came after Trump called for a new judge before the hearing began, arguing that there was a conflict of interest for Merchan to facilitate and oversee the trial since his daughter is a Democratic political consultant.
In addition, the New York appeals court turned down Trump’s request to delay the trial as they sought to change its venue.
The hearing is in line with Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s case against Trump, in which he accused the Republican nominee of 34 counts of falsifying business records related to the payments he made to adult entertainment star Stormy Daniels during the 2016 presidential elections.
Merchan earlier imposed an expanded gag order on Trump after the GOP frontrunner revealed that the judge’s daughter is a senior executive on a “super liberal democrat firm,” who had worked with prominent Democrat personalities, such as Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, and California Gov. Gavin Newsom.
