REPORT: AOC renews claim that climate change is causing THIS major US crisis

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez claimed that climate change was partly behind the illegal immigration crisis on the southern border and that we needed to consider “climate refugees in our immigration policies.”

“Remember when we said climate change would cause mass migration, & the right called us crazy?” the New York Democrat said Monday on Twitter. “Well, it’s happening. And walling ourselves off from the world isn’t a plan for our future. It’s time to recognize climate refugees in our immigration policies.”

The article goes on to state the following:

The 29-year-old congresswoman attached an article to her tweet from Mic that claimed 7 million people were forced from their homes because of extreme weather.

Back in April, Ocasio-Cortez sent out a tweet with a similar claim. She tweeted:

“The far-right loves to drum up fear & resistance to immigrants. But have you ever noticed they never talk about what‘s causing people to flee their homes in the first place? Perhaps that’s bc they’d be forced to confront 1 major factor fueling global migration: Climate change.
