BREAKING: ICE places hold on man accused of letting daughter, 12, drive in crash that killed man, dog [Video]

FOXNEWS.COM:

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement placed a hold on a Houston man who police said let his 12-year-old daughter drive his SUV, which resulted in the death of a man and his dog last week.

The hold was placed on Tomas Mejia Tol, 42, for an immigration violation, court documents cited by Fox 26 read.

The article goes on to state the following:

Holds are placed on people “arrested on criminal charges for whom ICE possesses probable cause to believe that they are removable from the United States,” according to ICE.

According to ABC 13, neighbors said Enrique Vazquez, 47, was walking his three dogs when he was killed.

Police believe the girl used too much gas, sending the black Ford Explorer forward and into Vazquez and his dog before hitting a tree, KHOU11 reported.

Mejia initially told police that he was driving the Ford, but the unidentified 12-year-old had already confessed to officers, telling them her father let her drive for practice. Witnesses also disputed Mejia’s claim.
