Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) is under fire Thursday for his highly inappropriate Senate speech calling for new elections in Israel. Even the White House is attempting to distance itself from Schumer’s dangerous and reckless election interference.
“The world has changed — radically — since [October 7], and the Israeli people are being stifled right now by a governing vision that is stuck in the past,” Schumer said in what was described as a major speech.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has “lost his way,” Schumer added, “by allowing his political survival to take precedence over the best interests of Israel.”
“As a lifelong supporter of Israel, it has become clear to me: The Netanyahu coalition no longer fits the needs of Israel after October 7,” Schumer claimed.
“Nobody expects Prime Minister Netanyahu to do the things that must be done to break the cycle of violence,” Schumer declared, rattling off a list of actions he believed the Israeli should be taking.
During his appalling rant, Schumer also threw “right-wing Israelis” into the same category as Hamas.

“At this critical juncture, I believe a new election is the only way to allow for a healthy and open decision-making process about the future of Israel, ” Schumer brazenly declared.

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell them delivered a rebuttal to Schumer’s shocking speech. He said:
“It is grotesque and hypocritical for Americans who hyperventilate about foreign interference in our own democracy to call for the removal of the democratically elected leader of Israel. This is unprecedented. We should not treat fellow democracies this way at all. Things that upset left-wing activists are not a prime minister’s policies.”
“There is Israel’s policies. Make no mistake, the Democratic Party doesn’t have an anti-Bibi problem, it has an anti Israel problem. Israel is not a colony of America whose leaders serve at the pleasure of the party in power in Washington. Only Israeli citizens should have a say in who runs their government. This is the very definition of democracy and sovereignty. Either we respect their decisions, or we disrespect their democracy.”

Former Israeli Prime Minister and opposition leader Naftali Bennett blasted Schumer, releasing the following statement:
Regardless of our political opinion, we strongly oppose external political intervention in Israel’s internal affairs. We are an independent nation, not a banana republic. With the threat of terrorism on its way to the West, it would be best if the international community would assist Israel in its just war, thereby also protecting their countries.

Sen. Tom Cotton (R-Ark.) condemned Schumer, saying, “Chuck Schumer’s demand for new Israeli elections is inappropriate and offensive. Israel is a close ally and a healthy, vibrant democracy. The last thing Israel needs is the ‘foreign election interference’ that Democrats so often decry here. Besides, teh main elections that worry Chuck Schumer aren’t Isreael’s but our elections because the rampant antisemitism that the Democratic Party has allowed to fester in its ranks is massively unpopular with the pro-Israel American public. Chuck Schumer should remove the log in his own party’s eye before he whines about the speck in Israel’s eye.”

Sen. Joni Ernst (R-Iowa) wrote, “Schumer should be ashamed for turning his back on our greatest ally in the Middle East. While he gives lip service to Israel, his statements today show he will follow in lockstep with terrorist sympathizers while American lives are on the line. Words have consequences.”

Rep. Byron Donalds (R-Fla.) declared, “Chuck Schumer recklessly meddled in Israeli elections & called for Netanyahu’s ouster. This is completely inappropriate & out of line. Israel is at war with genocidal terrorists who just committed the worst massacre of Jews since the Holocaust. America must stand with Israel.”

Conservative podcaster Mark Levin declared, “I call for a new government in our country, a course correction. Schumer’s a POS. Party and power above country. And if that means the annihilation of Israel fine by him. The Democrats are the imperialists and colonialists of our day. Funding Iran and terrorism. Smearing Israel’s prime minister and urging a coup. This is the stuff of dictators and potentates. The same actors and party who seek to imprison Trump so Biden literally runs without opposition or challenge.”

This is one of the most disgusting speeches ever given in the Senate.
1) Senators don’t get to pick who foreign democracies elect. This is election interference.
2) Schumer doesn’t understand how Israel is united to destroy Hamas. It’s bigger than Bibi. https://t.co/ffzbgV2olp
