President Trump proudly claimed he broke Elton John’s attendance record at a Manchester, New Hampshire arena during a Trump rally and immediately, the eye-rolling and shouts of “liar” followed, with the media showing images of empty seats. Who cares if the photos were earlier in the day?
But hold on a minute: The Manchester Fire Marshal’s Office told DailyMail.com that it had counted 11,500 people entering the building, and listen up, CNN – that would break Elton John’s 2004 record of 11,300, according to what arena officials told the fire department.
In addition (CNN has yet to report this either) Deputy Fire Marshal Mitchell Cady said he and his staff estimated another 8,000-9,000 people who couldn’t get in and watched video screens outside.
‘Great news!’ the president tweeted after returning from the Southern New Hampshire University Arena to his New Jersey golf resort. ‘Tonight, we broke the all-time attendance record previously held by Elton John at #SNHUArena in Manchester, New Hampshire!’
Manchester Deputy Fire Marshal Mitchell Cady told DailyMail.com that Trump was right – that his crowd numbered ‘just over 11,500.’
Trump’s tweeted boast Thursday night led to intense debate online about whether he was exaggerating his popularity in New Hampshire, a state he claims he lost to Hillary Clinton only because of voter fraud that was investigated but never confirmed.
Some noted empty seats in the upper reaches of the arena in photographs and video feeds of the rally.
An official at the SNHU Arena who declined to be named, saying, ‘You’re not going to get me involved in all this political fighting,’ said Friday that empty ‘nosebleed seats’ would have been offset ‘by all the people cramming themselves into the standing-room space on the arena floor.’
‘The Trump people wanted the fire marshal to let more people in, and at some point they say no,’ the official said. ‘But there were tons and tons more outside. It’s not like they couldn’t fill the place.’
“They view everybody as fascist and Nazis,” President Trump said at a rally in New Hampshire, where thousands of supporters cheered. “They use that term Nazi. This was a term, you could not even use it, now they use it on, like, a regular basis.”
Further, Trump pointed out that Democrats like Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez accused the border agents of running “concentration camps” despite their “heroic” efforts to secure the border. “They do an incredible job,” he said, referring border agents.
The president spoke about Democrats during his political rally in New Hampshire, where thousands of supporters cheered his political message. He criticized Democrats for refusing to fix the immigration and asylum loopholes to keep out illegal immigrants. “They look down upon the hard-working citizens who truly make our country run,” he said.
Trump described his supporters as the “greatest political movement in the history of this country” and said that it was built on “love.”
“Our movement is built on love, we love our families, we love our faith, we love our flag, and we love our freedom, that’s what it’s about,” he said, adding, “We love our neighbors and we love our country.”
He repeated his dedication to the United States and its citizens first.
“We have to take care of our own,” he said. “You haven’t heard that from a politician or a political leader in a long time. It’s called America First.”
During his speech, a protester interrupted and was quickly shouted down by the president’s supporters with chants of “USA!”
“That guy has a serious weight problem,” Trump said, as the protester was ushered out of the arena. “Go home, start exercising … he’s got a bigger problem than I do. Get him out of here please.”
