President Donald Trump confirmed Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) will focus on removing “criminals” from the United States during deportation raids on illegal aliens Sunday and moving forward. It’s not about people who have not committed crimes.
Asked by the media if the administration had given warning of the raid, President Trump said there was no need to do so. “There’s nothing to be secret about,” he said. “We’re focused on criminals as much as we can, before we do anything else.”
The New York Times reported ICE is preparing to round up roughly 200 illegal aliens with final deportation orders in at least ten major U.S. cities. President Donald Trump delayed the raids after details of the operation were leaked to the media.
Former ICE head Thomas Homan and DHS officials believe Acting DHS Secretary Kevin McAleenan was responsible for the leak, which caused the operation to be called off.
Speaking of Homan: I’ve just appointed him stud of the year:
Chicago Mayor, Lori Lightfoot, says she or ‘they’ – not sure what pronoun the Mayor prefers – will not cooperate with the raids. On Wednesday, Lightfoot said she will block ICE from accessing its police databases ahead of the deportation operation. “Chicago is and will always be a welcoming city that will never tolerate ICE tearing our families apart..”
Curious what happens when somebody murders an innocent kid – do they get put in prison with their children or does the child get separated? Oh, who cares, right?
Ken Cuccinelli, Acting U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) Director revealed Sunday ICE stands ready to deport one million illegal aliens with final orders for deportation. “[ICE agents are] ready to just perform their mission which is to go and find and detain and then deport the approximately one million people who have final removal orders,” Cuccinelli told CBS News. “They’ve been all the way through the due process and have final removal orders. Who among those will be targeted for this particular effort or not is really just information kept within ICE.”
Here’s the thing that matters: Go back to the Facebook link and share it – thanks.
The issue of family separations was also the center of a back-and-forth between Homan and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.), who testified before the committee about her own visit to holding facilities.
During the hearing, Ocasio-Cortez questioned Homan about a recommendation he gave to then-Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen, urging her to opt for the Trump administration’s “zero tolerance” policy that mandated the prosecution of all adult migrants suspected of crossing the border illegally. The policy was credited with jump-starting the family separations under the Trump administration last year until the president ended it via executive order.
“So you provided the official recommendation to Secretary Nielsen for the United States to pursue family separation?” Ocasio-Cortez asked.
“I gave Secretary Nielsen numerous recommendations on how to secure the border and save lives,” Homan shot back.
Exchange between @RepAOC and Thomas Homan
Rep. @AOC: “The recommendation, of the many that you recommended, you recommended family separation.”
Homan: “I recommended zero tolerance.”
