The daughter of Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) was suspended by her school for engaging in anti-Israel protests and some Democrats are howling in rage.
Members of the collection of zany left-wing lawmakers known as “The Squad” piped up in support of the activist student’s mother, railing against the injustice of it all in posts to social media.
On Thursday, Isra Hirsi announced that she had been suspended from Barnard College over her involvement in the protests at Columbia University in New York City, showing that when it comes to antisemitism, it’s all in the family for Omar.
“What is going on here @BarnardCollege @Columbia? How does a student with no disciplinary record suddenly get to a suspension less than 24 hours after a nonviolent protest? What merits asymmetric crackdowns on Palestinian human rights protests?” Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) who heads up “The Squad,” wrote on X.

“From UM to Vanderbilt to USC to Columbia, students across our country are being retaliated against for using their constitutional rights to protest genocide. It’s appalling,” added Jew-hating Hamas mouthpiece Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.)

Rep. Jamaal Bowman (D-NY), the fire-alarm pulling ticking human time bomb, accused the school of engaging in “political reprisals.”
“The day after @IlhanMN questioned Columbia leadership’s commitment to free academic expression, the school suspended her daughter? It’s clear what is happening here. Our educational institutions should not be in the business of political reprisals,” wrote Bowman who is facing a serious primary challenge over aligning himself with antisemites.

Ethically challenged Black Lives Matter bomb thrower Rep. Cori Bush (D-Mo.) also chimed in.
“Academic institutions across the country, including in Missouri, are targeting anti-war protesters. This is unacceptable and must be condemned. We must protect free speech and dissent on college campuses,” Bush said.

What Omar’s cohorts really mean is that the “free speech” of fomenting hatred against Jewish and white people shouldn’t be subject to consequences, even if it breaks campus rules which Hirsi did, meriting her suspension.
“those of us in Gaza Solidarity Encampment will not be intimidated. we will stand resolute until our demands are met. our demands include divestment from companies complicit in genocide, transparency of @Columbia’s investments and FULL amnesty for all students facing repression,” Hirsi wrote on X, referring to the tent city of Hamas supporters on the lawn at Columbia University.

“Before noon on April 17, Columbia made multiple requests that students participating in the unauthorized encampment leave the lawn. A number of Barnard Senior Staff also went to the lawn to ask Barnard students participating in the encampment to leave and to advise Barnard students that they would be subject to sanctions at Barnard if they did not leave the encampment,” Barnard College said in a statement. “This morning, April 18, we started to place identified Barnard students remaining in the encampment on interim suspension, and we will continue to do so.”
