VIDEO: Bernie Sanders delivers response to Trump’s speech at re-election rally

2020 Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) delivered a live response after President Donald J. Trump launched his campaign on Tuesday.

He called Trump’s speech an hour-and-a-half of “lies, distortions and total, absolute nonsense” that was “quite an experience.”

“I want to take you into a parallel universe from where Trump was this evening,” Sanders said. He then launched into a litany of issues Trump didn’t talk about.

He said the major issue facing the planet was climate change and blasted Trump for not addressing it, “unless I missed it.”

He denounced Trump’s pride in the economy, saying the president didn’t talk about average American’s living paycheck to paycheck, income and wealth inequality, or student debt.

Sanders complained about Trump’s described tax cuts and the way he addressed medical insurance, then blasted him for failing to address education and gun control laws.

Sanders then called Trump’s comments on immigration “racist.”

The self-described Democratic Socialist concluded that Trump is “out-of-touch” with everyday Americans.
