Donald Trump’s Pollster Made a Confession About 2020 That Will Leave You Speechless

Donald Trump’s poll numbers are the talk of Washington.

Multiple public polls show former Vice President Joe Biden leading President Trump.

This story then went to another level when Donald Trump’s pollster made a confession about the 2020 election that will leave you speechless.

Fox News was the latest poll to show Biden leading Trump in a hypothetical 2020 matchup.

This poll dropped on the heels of a leak of internal Trump campaign polling from March that showed Biden besting Trump in the majority of the 2020 battleground states.

Trump pollster Tony Fabrizio later stated that the polling was months old and just one of many models they tested.

Fabrizio revealed that polling showing Biden leading Trump by double digits in Florida, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin tested a “worst case scenario” of a Democrat voter turnout tsunami and a depressed GOP base.

The Trump pollster also added that under normal turnout models the President led Biden.

Trump’s other pollster – John McLaughlin – also poked holes in the public polling showing President Trump trailing Biden.

McLaughlin told a local New York City radio host that media pollsters still had not learned the lessons of 2016 – namely that they did not know how to accurately gage Trump’s support.

“The polls, when they’re not done well, and they’re done as cheaply and inefficiently as they were done back in 2016, they’re going to be wrong again,” McLaughlin predicted. “They’re doubling down on poor science at the time. And they don’t know how to analyze these Trump voters because they don’t like talking to the media because they know the media is like 90% negative coverage of their president.”

McLaughlin went even further stating that based on his work he believed President Trump would emerge victorious in 2020.

He later added, “I truly believe the president is on his way to reelection.”

There are other reasons to be skeptical of public polls showing Biden holding a massive lead over President Trump.

First of all, public polling 500 days out from an election has no predictive value.

In May 2015, Hillary Clinton led Donald Trump by 18 points.

Public polling only begins to matter in 90 to 100 days before an election when the candidates and political terrain have been established.

Second, Biden is the stand-in for a generic Democrat in these polls.

But Biden will have to fight his way through more than 20 other Democrats to win the nomination where he will be bloodied and bruised from not just the attacks by his fellow competitors, but also the hundred plus million dollar negative ad blitz President Trump’s campaign is preparing to dump on the head of the eventual Democrat Presidential nominee.

There is little chance Biden maintains his popularity should he survive the slog to the nomination.

Political reporters know all of this.

But they want to paint as bleak a picture as possible for President Trump’s re-election to depress his supporter’s enthusiasm to turnout in 2020.
