President Trump Calls NYT Report On US Launching Cyber Attacks Against Russia ‘Virtual Act of Treason’

A year or so ago, stories surfaced on Russia utilizing cyber attacks to plant malware in our power grids. Yesterday, the New York Times, either irresponsibly or in a frenzy of lying in an effort to hurt President Trump and start a war (America be damned), released an article claiming that the US was carrying out retaliatory cyber attacks against the Russians. Sounds like treason to me and evidently to President Trump as well.

President Trump hotly denied the report and called the decision to run the article a “virtual act of treason.” It’s hard to argue with that premise if you have ever been involved with intelligence and national security. It is preposterous to even think that intelligence agencies are withholding information like this from President Trump. That should be punishable by severe prison time if true.

The New York Times is claiming that the US is increasingly targeting Russia’s electrical power grid and has even gone as far as to install debilitating malicious code inside it. Exactly whose side is the NYT on? Forget I even asked that. The operation is the first of its kind and the NYT also claimed two administration officials said President Trump is believed not to have been briefed on the mission. This sounds like yet another hit job against Trump and his administration. Russian dossier anyone?

From Breitbart:

“Reacting to the report in a pair of tweets, President Trump wrote: “Do you believe that the Failing New York Times just did a story stating that the United States is substantially increasing Cyber Attacks on Russia. This is a virtual act of Treason by a once great paper so desperate for a story, any story, even if bad for our Country.”

“The president went on to deny the report’s veracity, stating it was “NOT TRUE!”

“Anything goes with our Corrupt News Media today. They will do, or say, whatever it takes, with not even the slightest thought of consequence! These are true cowards and without doubt, THE ENEMY OF THE PEOPLE!” he concluded.

“Moments earlier, President Trump defended his decision to be interviewed by ABC News. The president made headlines after telling interviewer George Stephanopoulos that he was open to accepting opposition research on his 2020 Democrat rivals from a foreign government.

“I enjoyed my interview with @GStephanopoulos on @ABC. So funny to watch the Fake News Media try to dissect & distort every word in as negative a way as possible,” President Trump wrote.

“Think I will do many more Network Interviews, as I did in 2016, in order to get the word out that no President has done what I have in…the first 2 1/2 years of his Presidency, including the fact that we have one of the best Economies in the history of our Country,” he went on. “It is called Earned Media. In any event, enjoy the show!”

“On Friday, President Trump clarified his remarks, stating that “of course” he would notify the FBI or the Department of Justice if a foreign power offered him dirt about a rival.

“Of course you have to look at it because if you don’t look at it you won’t know it’s bad,” the president told Fox and Friends. “But, of course, you give it to the FBI or report it to the attorney general or somebody like that.”

“I don’t think anybody would present me with anything bad because they know how much I love this country. Nobody’s going to present me with anything bad,” he added.”

According to the NYT’s report, the intelligence guys are doing this because they’re afraid he’ll undermine the attacks or tell the Russians about them. You’ve got to be fricking kidding me. What absolute bull crap. By the way, if the intelligence guys did not want Trump to know what they are doing why did they leak it to the NYT? You get my drift here.

According to the media, under a new provision added to the military authorization bill that passed last summer, ‘clandestine military activity’ can be authorized by the defense secretary without special presidential approval. If that is true, it is extremely unconstitutional and I don’t believe it is true. General Paul Nakasone, commander of Cyber Command, allegedly now has the power to conduct offensive operations without presidential approval. If that proves to be the case it should be rectified immediately and the Pentagon should get a complete overhaul. I’ll believe it when I see actual proof of it.

“Accusing the press of treason is dangerous. We described the article to the government before publication. As our story notes, President Trump’s own national security officials said there were no concerns,” the paper said in a tweet. Well, if the turncoat fits… it may be dangerous but it seems to also be true. This is yet another hit against an administration by the media who are no friend to Americans in general anymore.
