Happy Birthday, Mr. President! White House Crowd Sings for Trump on His 73rd Birthday

President Donald Trump celebrated his 73rd birthday on Friday. Seventy-three years ago on June 14, 1946, the 45th president of the United States was born in Queens, New York, to parents Frederick C. and Mary Anne MacLeod Trump.

On this special day, Trump attended an event on expanding health coverage options for small business workers in the White House. Just before he was about to deliver an announcement on health care, the crowd that had assembled at the Rose Garden sang “Happy Birthday” to him out of the blue.

The president was clearly moved. “Very nice, wow. That is very, very nice,” Trump told the crowd, which consisted of small business owners, administration officials, and others. “You must like what I’m about to say, I think,” he further added.

Coincidentally, the president shares his birthday with the birth of our nation’s flag. Trump has fought hard for America’s flag to be respected again. Each year, Americans celebrate Flag Day to commemorate when the Star Spangled Banner came into existence on June 14, 1777.

One social media user wrote: “President Donald Trump turns 73 years old today. Fun fact: he is the only president to have a birthday on Flag Day.”
