Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has revealed that Nicole Shanahan, a tech lawyer with a minimal political background but a history of donating substantial amounts to Democratic candidates, will be his running mate as an independent presidential candidate in the 2024 election.
The 38-year-old was previously married to Sergey Brin, co-founder of Google and a billionaire, from 2018 until January 2022. Their marriage reportedly ended following Shanahan’s rumored involvement in a sexual affair with Elon Musk. Shanahan has founded several companies, including ClearAccessIP, a tech law firm utilizing AI for patent portfolio analysis, and the Bia-Echo Foundation, a private organization focusing on reproductive equality, criminal justice reform, and environmental issues.
Shanahan, whose mother was Chinese and her father was a bipolar schizophrenic, has designated herself as an Independent to run with RFK Jr., but she has a history of supporting Democratic presidential campaigns. She contributed $2,800 each to Marianne Williamson and Pete Buttigieg. She also co-hosted a fundraiser for Buttigieg and later donated $25,000 to the Biden Victory Fund after he secured the nomination.
We want to ask you, the reader: do you approve of RFK Jr.’s VP choice? Answer in our poll below, and leave a comment if you believe the RFK Jr. campaign will hurt Trump or Biden more in election polling.
