YONKERS – Two people were arrested Tuesday afternoon at the Ramada Inn shelter in Yonkers, with officers claiming one of the migrants living at the hotel tried to strike them. The entire incident was caught on camera.
Bodycam video released by the Yonkers Police Department shows officers pulling up to the front entrance.
“A guy’s over here unruly, he’s getting very violent with everybody. He’s throwing stuff at everybody. Send somebody here right away,” an officer says on the 911 call released by police.
In the newly-released body cam footage, a Ramada Inn staffer is heard calling in to 911, saying, “I need to get police over here at the Ramada right away. We have a situation with the clients.”
“With what?” the dispatcher asks.
“The clients,” he repeats, adding, “The guy’s very unruly… he’s throwing stuff at everybody, please send somebody here right away.”
As officers walk into the hotel lobby, police body cam footage shows a group of illegal aliens getting into a heated confrontation.
Police arrest the main culprit, identified as Arnal Kent, 35, a Venezuelan who just crossed the border into the United States last fall.
While officers are trying to put Kent in the police car, another illegal alien, identified as Yainilet Hernandez, 24, rushes up and starts attacking the cops. Amid the wild melee, Hernandez is arrested as well, and one officer ends up with an injured knee and wrist.
Below is the wild body cam video:
Fox5 New York also posted a video report on the wild incident, and said Kent is already out of jail, after being charged with menacing, disorderly conduct, obstruction of governmental administration and resisting arrest. He was released with an appearance ticket, the report states.
Fox5 NY spoke to Kent outside the hotel on Thursday, as he admitted he came from Venezuela last fall, and claimed the hotel staff are “mistreating” him and the other migrants.
Hernandez was charged with assault, obstruction of governmental administration and resisting arrest, and was held on bail, Fox5 NY adds.
