The 10 most popular governors in the United States are all Republicans, according to new Morning Consult polling. Topping the list is Massachusetts Gov. Charlie Baker, a Republican who is currently viewed favorably by 73 percent of registered voters and unfavorably by just 14 percent. He is followed by Republican Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan (71 percent favorable), Republican New Hampshire Gov. Chris Sununu (64 percent favorable), and Republican Alabama Gov. Kay Ivey (63 percent favorable).

The article goes on to state the following:

On the other end of the spectrum are many of the Democratic governors, who hold 7 of the 10 spots on the least popular governors list. The least popular governor in the country is Kentucky Republican Matt Bevin, who is viewed unfavorably by 52 percent, but he is followed on the list by four Democrats—Rhode Island’s Gina Raimondo (50 percent unfavorable), Oregon’s Kate Brown (44 percent unfavorable), New York’s Andrew Cuomo (40 percent unfavorable), and Connecticut’s Ned Lamont (38 percent unfavorable).

Also on the list of the 10 most unpopular governors is Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam (D.), who following the discovery of Ku Klux Klan yearbook pictures on his page is viewed unfavorably by 36 percent. Northam has resisted calls for his resignation.
