After Bernie Sanders Gets Attention For Town Hall, Other Democrats Suddenly Interested In Appearing On FOX News

Last month, DNC chair Tom Perez made it clear that FOX News would not be allowed to moderate any of the debates in the 2020 Democratic primary.

He did this because the left despises FOX News and he doesn’t want to anger his party’s base.

Bernie Sanders decided to do a town hall event on FOX News and was initially criticized by many people on the left. That is until they saw how much attention he received as a result. Now some of them are trying to copy his idea.

Beto O’Rourke, who has stagnated in polls is suddenly into the idea.

The Huffington Post reports:

Beto O’Rourke Says He Would Appear On Fox News

Former Texas congressman and Democratic presidential contender Beto O’Rourke says he would be willing to appear on Fox News.

“What specific format or show I can’t speak to, but yes, we will speak to Fox viewers,” O’Rourke told HuffPost at a campaign event in Virginia on Wednesday.

On Monday, a Fox News town hall in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, with Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), another 2020 presidential candidate, was watched by nearly 2.6 million viewers, making it the most-watched town hall of 2019 so far.

Other Democratic presidential contenders are already planning to or have expressed interest in appearing on the cable news channel, whose audience leans heavily toward older conservatives who voted for President Donald Trump in 2016.

Amy Klobuchar, who is barely making a ripple in the polls, has already scheduled an event with FOX.

The Hill reports:

Klobuchar to appear in Fox News town hall in May

Fox News announced on Wednesday that it will feature a town hall with 2020 Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.) next month.

The announcement, made by Fox News and Fox Business president and Executive Editor Jay Wallace, will take place on Wednesday, May 8, and it will be broadcast live from 6:30-7:30 p.m. live from Milwaukee.

The town hall will be moderated by “Special Report” anchor Bret Baier and “The Story” anchor Martha MacCallum, both of whom moderated a town hall with Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) on Monday.

The Fox News town hall with Sanders from Bethlehem, Pa., was watched by nearly 2.6 million viewers, making it the most-watched town hall of 2019.

Democrats who ignore the FOX News audience are making a huge mistake.

It’s funny that Bernie was the first one of them to realize this.
