Societies collapse when their moral foundations are eroded. When virtue ceases to be perceived as virtue, when strength begins to be perceived as cruelty, and when law begins to be perceived as a weapon used to protect the powerful and subjugate the weak — societies begin to rapidly devolve.
All you have to do is look at the latter history of Rome, and you’ll see a mirror image of the United States today.
For the past few decades, this is exactly the course we have been on. It reached a head, however, when the Obama administration weaponized the IRS against his political opponents. When he directed the federal government to punish private citizens who criticized him and his administration.
But when the world saw Hillary Rodham Clinton effectively pardoned by deep state actors for crimes against the American people which she almost certainly committed, we knew things had gone too far. Then we saw the same apparatus take aim at a duly elected president. And we have been slaving away to show people how deceptive the compromised factions within our government and the mainstream media have been.
Attorney General William Barr has said that he knows President Trump was spied on by his political opponents. Now, he only needs to find out if they had the legal right to do what they did before leveling indictments.
