In a call for strategic revitalization within the Republican National Committee (Republican National Committee), newly-elected co-chair Lara Trump emphasized the need to elevate the party’s game to compete effectively against the Democrats.
Trump, replacing Drew McKissick in her recent election, voiced her concerns stating, “we’ve been playing checkers, and the Democrats have been playing chess.”
On Fox News’ “Sunday Morning Futures,” Trump outlined the Republican National Committee’s focus on turning out the vote, protecting the vote, and fundraising, with an emphasis on election integrity.
Responding to Fox News host Maria Bartiromo’s inquiry about her top priorities as the Republican National Committee co-chair, Trump highlighted a critical issue raised by Attorney General Merrick Garland regarding potential challenges to states implementing restrictive voting measures.
Trump emphasized the importance of instilling trust in the electoral process, stating, “we can never allow what happened in 2020 and the questions surrounding that election to ever happen again.”
In addressing claims of fraud in the 2020 election, Trump acknowledged the establishment of an “election integrity division” within the committee, consisting of a nationwide network of volunteers, including poll watchers and trained workers.
“Unfortunately, we don’t have one day of voting, we don’t have paper ballots, we don’t have voter ID everywhere. So we have to play the hand that we’re dealt,” Trump said to the Washington Examiner.
“We need to be doing legal ballot harvesting — something that has never been done by the Republican National Committee, but I can promise you will be a huge part of what we’re planning to do,” she added.
With 78 ongoing lawsuits in 23 states aimed at facilitating voting and preventing fraud, Lara Trump issued a stern warning to potential wrongdoers, asserting that cheating in elections will be met with prosecution to the fullest extent of the law.
She underscored the universal interest in free, fair and transparent elections, appealing to both Republicans and Democrats.
Addressing concerns about fundraising, Trump pledged to enhance transparency and ensure that every dollar donated to the Republican National Committee directly contributes to electoral success.
She acknowledged the need for donors to feel confident that their contributions align with causes they care about, expressing her commitment to optimizing resources for victories “at the top of the ballot and down the ballot” on Election Day.
