REPORT: Congressional aide arrested on pandering charges tied to prostitution raid

Jerod Prunty, an aide to Rep. Clay Higgins (R-La.), was arrested Saturday and faces two charges of pandering in connection with a recent prostitution bust, the Acadiana Advocate first reported.

His arrest comes after a sting operation involving human trafficking and prostitution at local massage parlors, according to the Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office. Eight others were also arrested last week in relation to the alleged crime.

The article goes on to state the following:

Prunty, 47, worked in Higgins’s personal office serving as a field representative, according to Legistorm.

Higgins’s office said the reports were “deeply troubling” and that it plans to fully cooperate with the investigation
