A favorite pastime of the Trump-hating media is to speculate negatively about former President Donald Trump’s marriage to former first lady Melania Trump, with virtually any interaction between the two being grist for the rumor mill.
The most recent fodder for the Trump marriage gossip circles is a claim from a former close friend and senior aide of Melania, Stephanie Winston Wolkoff, that the former president no longer displays “chivalry” toward his wife, the New York Post’s Page Six reported.
That claim on social media, accompanied by a series of brief video clips, quite predictably spurred a flurry of negative speculative comments about the current status of the marriage between the former first couple.
Trump’s alleged “lack of ‘chivalry'” toward Melania
In an X post on Sunday, Wolkoff wrote, “Let me bottom line this for you. Perception is everything to the Trump Family so Donald’s lack of ‘chivalry’ towards Melania is quite a ‘tell.'”
“Chivalry for Donald was waiting for Melania to go first & ensuring she walked by his side. He’s been doing neither recently,” she added along with an invitation for users to watch the attached video to see things for themselves.

The video begins with a couple of clips of the Trumps walking together while holding hands or him waiting for her to proceed through a doorway. Those were followed by a few other clips that showed the pair standing together momentarily before he proceeded to walk ahead of her, typically while greeting guests.
It is noteworthy that the series of clips are devoid of any context for the particular situations and don’t show any chivalrous acts that may have occurred just before or after the footage was captured.
Wolkoff’s memoir
When one sees such claims about the Trump marriage, it is generally best to first consider the source, and in this case that involves a bitter former friend who had a falling out with the former first lady and then published a tell-all memoir that spilled alleged secrets about Melania and her marriage to the former president.
That anti-Trump book, “
At the time the book was published, however, the New York Post reported on the then-first lady’s response to Wolkoff’s claims and pointed out that Wolkoff had exited the White House in 2018 under a cloud of scandal related to tens of millions of dollars in funds for the 2017 Inauguration event allegedly received by Wolkoff’s company that was unaccounted for.
Melania fired back at tell-all book
As for Melania’s response, she wrote in a since-deleted essay on the White House website that “major news outlets eagerly covered salacious claims made by a former contractor who advised my office,” and referred to Wolkoff as “a person who said she ‘made me’ even though she hardly knew me, and someone who clung to me after my husband won the Presidency.”
“This is a woman who secretly recorded our phone calls, releasing portions from me that were out of context, then wrote a book of idle gossip trying to distort my character,” she continued.
“Her ‘memoir’ included blaming me for her ailing health from an accident she had long ago, and for bad news coverage that she brought upon herself and others. Never once looking within at her own dishonest behavior and all in an attempt to be relevant,” the then-first lady added at another point. “These kinds of people only care about their personal agenda — not about helping others.”
