VIDEO: Lindsey Graham makes statement asking Trump to reconsider Syria decision

WASHINGTONEXAMINER.COM:

Sen. Lindsey Graham on Wednesday urged President Trump to reconsider plans to withdraw U.S. troops in Syria, after an explosion killed four American troops there.

“To those who lost their lives today in Syria, you were defending America, in my view,” the South Carolina Republican said while leading the confirmation hearing for attorney general nominee William Barr. “To those in Syria who are trying to work together you are providing the best and only hope to your country. I hope the president will look long and hard at what we’re doing in Syria,” said Graham, the new Senate Judiciary Committee chairman.

The article goes on to state the following:

Trump last month claimed ISIS had been destroyed and said that the U.S. would begin to withdraw the approximately 2,000 U.S. troops in Syria. The decision played a role in former Defense Secretary Jim Mattis’ resignation, and the announcement caught many lawmakers on Capitol Hill off-guard.
