While Joe Biden was mingling with Barack Obama, Bill Clinton, and a large number of wealthy Democrat donors at a ritzy fundraiser in New York City on Thursday, former President Donald Trump came to town for a much more sobering reason.
Trump attended the wake for fallen NYPD officer Jonathan Diller, 31, who was shot and killed by a career criminal on Monday. Diller leaves behind a wife and a one-year-old baby boy who will now grow up never knowing his father.
Diller’s killer, Guy Rivera, 34, a career criminal with 21 prior arrests, had already served two prison sentences, and was back out on the streets, despite his lengthy criminal record.
Trump arrived at the Massapequa funeral home around 2:00 p.m., and went inside to meeting with Diller’s family. He was inside for 30 minutes, and then came outside to meet with other officers and speak to reporters.

Trump slammed the “thug” who shot Diller, noting he had already been arrested 21 times.
“We have to stop it, we have to get back to law and order, because this is not working,” Trump said.
He commented on his visit with Diller’s wife, and noted the innocence of the beautiful baby who has no idea his life will never be the same.
“Maybe something is going to be learned. We’ve got to toughen it up,” Trump said.
