A notorious squatter named Sang Kim has refused to vacate a $2 million Seattle home and allegedly employed the same tactic with previous landlords, failing to pay rent for two years and causing losses of up to $200,000. This squatter has incited outrage throughout the neighborhood by squatting for nearly a year in a five-bedroom property owned by Jaskaran Singh. Legal filings suggest that Kim owes his landlord around $80,000. A heated confrontation between the two eventually broke out, and a protest involving approximately 200 residents demanded that the ‘con man’ either pay up or leave.
This comes right after a New York City property owner found herself in handcuffs after a heated confrontation with purported squatters whom she had been attempting to evict from her family’s residence, as shown in tense footage. 47-year-old Adele Andaloro was apprehended after she changed the locks on the $1 million home in Flushing, Queens, which she asserts she inherited from her deceased parents. Andaloro contends that the incident unfolded when she began the process of selling the home last month, only to discover squatters had taken residence, leading to her arrest for attempting to remove them.
Additionally, a viral TikTok of an illegal immigrant can be viewed after today’s poll, along with the Andaloro and Kim stories, where the Venezuelan migrant is making a call to action for all migrants to start taking up other Americans’ homes and begin the process of squatting.
We want to ask you, the reader: should squatters have any rights or claims to a home legally owned by someone else? Answer in our poll below and leave a comment on the growing squatter epidemic, as well as view the videos of the latest squatter stories.
