With the nation beating Florida’s door down, making the Sunshine State one of the top relocation destinations in the country, NBC News opted to reshape that narrative over the weekend with a piece highlighting those moving out of the state.
Being that Florida is a Republican-controlled state led by Gov. Ron DeSantis, the network had a heavy lift and cited “a hostile political environment, worsening traffic and extreme weather” as reasons people are moving out of the state. The network acknowledged Florida’s popularity in recent years but also focused on armadillo infestations, hurricanes, and an alleged inability to find a doctor to remove a tumor from a liver, in addition to the “ever-present feuding over politics.” The latter being pushback from Democrats and their media allies to the growing number of wins DeSantis is stacking up.
Speaking of wins, the Florida Supreme Court cleared the way Monday for the state to ban abortions after six weeks of pregnancy — the court also allowed a ballot measure that would enshrine abortion rights in the Florida constitution.
With her state all but hemorrhaging residents looking to flee oppressive liberal policies, New York Gov. Kathy Hochul saw an opportunity to capitalize on events in Florida, though it did not work out too well for her.
“Florida’s plan to implement a six-week abortion ban is disgraceful and dangerous. Let me be clear: If you need care, New York will be your safe harbor. We refuse to go backwards,” Hochul tweeted.

It seems few things excite Democrats more than abortion, as they have proven that they’ll crawl across broken glass for the opportunity to kill unborn babies.
As for Hochul, social media users suggested that she may be better advised to stay focused on her own “hellscape” of a state — here’s a quick sampling of responses to the story, as seen on X:
If only there was a “safe harbor” every time we used the subway instead of being harassed by panhandlers every time… https://t.co/KAElorIZz4

With the way you’re k*lling cops and babies, the only people New York is a safe harbor for are criminals. https://t.co/pSZjGOMLfx

NY where you can get an abortion and get killed on the subway the same day.

Speaking of going backwards, we’re going back to the Dinkins crime rates on the subways…
NY is a dumpsterfire and you’re tweeting about Florida??? Stay in your lane.— Milenka~ (@MilenaAmit) April 1, 2024
New Yorkers consider Florida to be so dangerous they’ve been moving there in droves.
Weird.

Focus on the hellscape that is NY.
