Stephen Colbert’s dreadful Late Show has been cancelled by CBS who issued a statement claiming the production is “not profitable,” yet Democrats are convinced that it’s all a big conspiracy and that President Trump forced the network to shut it down.
Viewership for the show has seen a steep decline over the past few years. It debuted in 2015 with 8.26 million viewers for its premiere episode and averaged over 3.2 million nightly viewers during the 2016-2017 season, but in the past five years has lost a third of its audience.
By the second quarter of 2025, the show averaged 2.42 million viewers across first-run episodes. This erosion in audience numbers, coupled with declining ad revenue, has contributed to CBS’s decision to end the series in May 2026.

“I’m not being replaced, this is all just going away,” Colbert said in a miserable remark.
CBS noted that the move was “purely a financial decision against a challenging backdrop in late night.”
No doubt Colbert will end up podcasting in his living room along with the likes of Chuck Todd, Don Lemon and Joy Reid.
The show had become nothing more than a vehicle for leftist propaganda, epitomised by the infamous ‘The Vax Scene’ skit in which Colbert danced and sang about how great COVID vaccines are while flanked by people dressed as syringes.
In the summer of 2020 Stephen Colbert aired a sketch warning people to be skeptical of vaccines and Big Pharma.
Eleven months later Colbert was dancing for the vaccine.

The show also suddenly became the premiere spot for mask propaganda and the ‘acceptable’ pandemic narrative.
When even Jon Stewart was questioning the origins of COVID on his show, Colbert was shilling.
You can see in this clip Colbert trying to get Stewart to shut up, and he keeps repeating government and public health talking points.
I used to like Colbert. In fact I have one of his comedy books but, he sold his soul to government/the establishment/bigpharma. Unfunny.— Eileen Eisenmann PhD

While general viewer numbers for late night TV are down in general, there can be no doubt that Colbert’s endless monologue attacks on Trump and Americans who do not identify with the extreme far left have contributed to the slide.
I stopped watching Colbert several years ago. I used to enjoy late night tv ie Carson, Letterman, Leno, Arsenio, Conan. They were genuinely funny with interesting guests. Late night tv now is left-wing political commentary. And most don’t want to hear that at bedtime.

One of his last guests was former NIH Director Francis Collins, who lectured the audience about America having a “trust deficit”:
Dr. Francis Collins, who during Covid was emailing with Fauci about how to quash reporting into Covid originating from research they were funding in Wuhan, laments the “trust deficit” today in the America.

With such compelling guest comedians like former NIH Director Francis Collins, it’s amazing Colbert is getting cancelled! Pro tip: try COMEDY not just leftist political lectures if you pretend to be a comedy show. pic.twitter.com/5AzsbsWOsB

But Democrats and their leftist media mouthpieces are convinced that the show has been axed in response to a demand from Trump as part of the $16 million settlement he made with CBS parent company Paramount over the deceptive editing of last year’s 60 Minutes interview with Kamala Harris.
Just finished taping with Stephen Colbert who announced his show was cancelled.
If Paramount and CBS ended the Late Show for political reasons, the public deserves to know. And deserves better.

Actually, he was supposed to be funny and just became a mouthpiece for you clowns. Hope this helps. Tell the public.

Colbert was basically calling the settlement a bribe just days ago. This is their ‘evidence’.
CBS canceled Colbert’s show just THREE DAYS after Colbert called out CBS parent company Paramount for its $16M settlement with Trump – a deal that looks like bribery.
America deserves to know if his show was canceled for political reasons.
Watch and share his message. pic.twitter.com/SlkxirSTOL

CNN and Stelter are very worked up about Colbert getting canned by CBS:
“This looks to a lot of Colbert’s fans like another form of capitulation by CBS to the President of the United States!” pic.twitter.com/CvCAcsRXpH

Dude, these people really are living in an entirely different reality at this point.
— Klay Thompson (@Thompsonklay) July 18, 2025
This clown uses the same deceptive rhetorical device every time
“Colbert’s fans say…”
So he can say what he wants to say, but it’s not attributable to him directly
Just a complete hack

Maybe Colbert can do more “comedy” gigs now.
