Democrats exploded after the news broke that CBS was pulling the plug on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” after ten seasons, bringing down the curtain on the “historic run” of one of the party’s top late-night TV propagandists.
On Thursday, the network announced that he would host his final broadcast in May 2026, yanking him off the air months before next year’s critical midterm elections and retiring the show altogether.
“We consider Stephen Colbert irreplaceable and will retire ‘THE LATE SHOW’ franchise at that time,” CBS execs said in a statement. “We are proud that Stephen called CBS home. He and the broadcast will be remembered in the pantheon of greats that graced late night television.”
“This is purely a financial decision against a challenging backdrop in late night,” they explained. “It is not related in any way to the show’s performance, content or other matters happening at Paramount.”

The announcement came days after Colbert slammed CBS parent Paramount’s $16 million settlement with President Donald J. Trump over the allegedly doctored “60 Minutes” interview with Kamala Harris as a “big fat bribe.”
While CBS may have cited purely “financial” reasons for cancelling the unfunny activist comic, conspiracy-minded Democrats suggested that something much more nefarious was behind the move.
“Just finished taping with Stephen Colbert who announced his show was cancelled. If Paramount and CBS ended the Late Show for political reasons, the public deserves to know. And deserves better,” serial liar and hoaxster Sen. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) said in a post to X.

Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) also blasted the move to jettison Colbert for “political reasons” and demanded answers.
“CBS canceled Colbert’s show just THREE DAYS after Colbert called out CBS parent company Paramount for its $16M settlement with Trump – a deal that looks like bribery,” wrote the shrill fake Indian in a post to X. “America deserves to know if his show was canceled for political reasons.”

Colbert’s fellow late-night Democrat shill Jimmy Kimmel dropped an f-bomb on CBS in his own emotional reaction to the cashiering of his comrade in arms.
“Love you Stephen. F–k you and all your Sheldons CBS,” the ABC host wrote on Instagram on Thursday, seeming to take a shot at the network’s hit “The Big Bang Theory” spinoff, “Young Sheldon.”
A one-routine comic who became a Democrat hero after viciously mocking then-President George W. Bush at the 2006 White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner, Colbert was embraced by the party’s top political figures, with the “Late Show” being the pinnacle of his career.

One infamous routine that underscored the lengths to which Colbert would go to promote Democrat policies was the ridiculous segment of dancing syringes during the Biden administration’s national push to get shots into arms.

Colbert broke the sad news to his show’s Thursday audience at the Ed Sullivan Theater in New York, telling them that he had learned of his cancellation on Wednesday night, a decade after he took over the helm from late night legend David Letterman: “next year will be our last season. … It’s the end of ‘The Late Show’ on CBS. I’m not being replaced. This is all just going away.”
His “going away” is a big win for America.
