Sen. Adam Schiff may finally be facing the music—and this time, there’s no Biden DOJ to run interference.
In a resurfaced interview, Schiff makes a damning admission that could destroy his legal defense:
“Our principal residence, our primary residence, is in California. It always has been, always will be.”
Video:
That would be fine—except he reportedly signed off on a federally-insured mortgage loan for a $1.7 million home in Maryland by claiming that was his primary residence. Why? Because doing so gave him a lower mortgage rate. But here’s the kicker: if Maryland was truly his primary residence, Schiff would’ve been ineligible to serve as a California representative during the time of the loan.
In other words, he lied—either on the loan or about his eligibility for office.
When Joe Biden ran the DOJ, this scandal died in the dark. But those days are over. With Donald Trump now in the Oval Office, the gloves are off. On Tuesday, the Trump administration announced that Fannie Mae’s Financial Crimes Division had allegedly uncovered mortgage fraud involving Schiff. A criminal referral was reportedly sent to the DOJ by the Federal Housing Finance Agency.
“It is extremely serious and [Schiff] is not taking it seriously,” said a senior official, adding that Schiff could face a separate criminal count for each mortgage payment.
And now, with this unearthed video contradicting Schiff’s official loan statements, things just got real. He’s already trying to distract by yelling “Trump!” as if that’s a legal defense.
It’s not.
This may be the beginning of the end for Schiff—and with Trump’s DOJ at the helm, accountability may finally be on the horizon.
Could Schiff face charges? At this point, it’s no longer speculation—it’s a real possibility.
