One of President Donald Trump’s campaign promises was to significantly slash government bloat and spending, and he delivered on that right away, only to be met with extreme federal judiciary resistance.
But recently, the Trump administration was the recipient of yet another amazing Supreme Court victory as it ruled that Trump could proceed with his plan to essentially dismantle the Department of Education, Breitbart reported.
The president himself called the ruling a “big win” for his administration, and it’ll allow him to move forward with firing thousands of DoE employees.
Trump’s primary goal, which is shared with a majority of conservatives, is to return the education matter to the states. Taking down the Department of Education is one massive step in that direction.
What’s going on?
Trump released a statement to the press upon learning of the Supreme Court’s 6-3 decision that allows him to proceed with his plan.
“We had a big win with the Supreme Court on the Department of Education. As you know, we want to bring education back to the states, take the federal government out of it. A little, tiny bit of supervision, but very little, almost nothing, like to make sure they speak English. That’s about all we need,” Trump told reporters, adding, “school choice is the answer.”

As he typically does, Trump expanded on his thoughts in a Truth Social post.
“Now, with this GREAT Supreme Court Decision, our Secretary of Education, Linda McMahon, may begin this very important process. The Federal Government has been running our Education System into the ground, but we are going to turn it all around by giving the Power back to the PEOPLE.”
He added, “America’s Students will be the best, brightest, and most Highly Educated anywhere in the World. Thank you to the United States Supreme Court!”
Social media reacts
Users across social media reacted to the news of Trump’s latest high court victory.
“Bulldoze the Department of Education. It’s utterly useless. They are giving it to the states and eliminating bureaucracy at the federal level,” one X user wrote.
Another X user wrote, “I don’t understand why people are against the states running their education. All the Trump haters call him stupid and his administration stupid, yet they want him to remain in power over education. I don’t get it. Are the states really too stupid to figure out courses in reading, writing and arithmetic?”
It’ll be interesting to see if Trump is able to return education decisions to the states.
