As June arrives, so does “Pride Month,” which, in the past, has elicited a proclamation from the White House, including from Donald Trump during his first presidency (he sent out a tweet in 2019 to recognize Pride Month on his personal account).
This time around, with its war against DEI, the administration has taken a different path.
It has been announced that the administration will not issue a Pride Month declaration for 2025.
Not happening
As I have stated before, this “holiday” makes little sense to me.
It is not a knock against the LGBTQ+ community, but I just don’t understand a full month to celebrate someone’s sexuality.
We don’t have a holiday or a month to celebrate heterosexuals, so why do we need a month to celebrate this?
The liberal world has almost made it mandatory that we celebrate everything deemed to be outside the conventional box, and it is just getting out of hand.
When White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt was asked about a Pride Month declaration from Trump, she stated that no such declaration would be forthcoming and that Trump “is proud to be a president for all Americans regardless of race, religion, or creed.”
Her comments came after Trump’s Department of Education declared June to be “Title IX Month,” referencing the federal statute that protects against sex-based discrimination.
Trump has been focused on removing transgender athletes from women’s sports, a policy I fully support.
Again, I have nothing against people who want to identify as something other than their birth gender, but this is a safety and integrity issue when it comes to sports.
We have repeatedly seen middling male athletes transition and dominate their respective sports, and it just happened again in California during the state high school track and field championships.
It is simply unfair to rob young ladies of their accolades, not to mention expose them to dangers in combat and in high-intensity or high-contact sports, such as boxing, hockey, and lacrosse.
Trump has also issued an order on this matter, which is currently being challenged in court.
My argument is and has been that if liberals want to allow transgenders in women’s sports, then why do we still insist on separating all sports by gender?
I don’t see the difference, yet when I bring this up among liberals, they tell me I am insane for suggesting such madness, yet they cannot reasonably explain to me why it is okay for a man who identifies as a woman to play in female sports leagues.
