A stunning new claim has emerged from Catherine Austin Fitts, a former HUD assistant secretary under President George H. W. Bush.
Fitts alleges that the federal government has spent trillions of dollars constructing a secret underground network, built to house elites in case of global catastrophe.
In a revealing interview with Tucker Carlson, Fitts laid out evidence of this hidden infrastructure, suggesting it’s designed for the powerful to retreat to when the world faces disaster.
According to Fitts, these vast underground bases, cities and transportation systems have been developed over the years using missing federal funds.
Fitts, now an investment banker, claims her research, backed by data and open-source information, suggests as many as 170 such facilities exist, not only across the U.S. but even under the ocean.
“We systematically went through and tried to guess estimate our guess—this is totally a guess—of how many underground bases there are, both underground in the United States, but also underground under the ocean around the United States,” Fitts explained.
Her team’s findings are grounded in the results of a 2017 report by Michigan State University economist Mark Skidmore, according to the New York Post.
The report revealed $21 trillion in unsupported adjustments at the Department of Defense and HUD between 1998 and 2015—spending that Fitts claims was used to fund these underground networks.
Skidmore’s research initially started when Fitts drew attention to $6.5 trillion in unsupported Army spending in fiscal year 2015.
“Given the Army’s $122 billion budget, that meant unsupported adjustments were 54 times spending authorized by Congress,” the report noted, per the outlet.
Fitts speculates that these underground networks could serve as hideouts for the elite in the event of a “near-extinction event.”
According to her, these bases may not only act as safe havens but also house government “secret projects,” possibly even including a “secret space program.”
While this may sound far-fetched, Fitts insists the infrastructure built is real and that it has been funded with taxpayer money.
Carlson reflected on a conversation he had with a contractor who allegedly worked on a base beneath Washington, D.C., where he described an inconspicuous transformer box on Constitution Avenue.
Carlson noted the contractor claimed the box was actually an escape point for the White House.
“I remember him telling me about a power box, like a transformer box, on Constitution Avenue… He told me [that] was actually the exit, the egress from the White House,” Carlson recalled.
When asked about the powering of these alleged bases, Fitts hinted that the government may have tapped into advanced energy sources not widely known to the public.
“I’m convinced that this energy exists. If you look at a lot of the really fast ships, flying around the planet, they’re not using classical electricity,” Fitts added, suggesting that high-tech energy may be used to run these secretive underground cities.
The timing of these allegations is particularly striking, as luxury doomsday bunkers are gaining popularity among the wealthy.
A Virginia-based company, SAFE (Strategically Armored & Fortified Environments), has unveiled a $300 million luxury underground facility called “Aerie,” which requires a $20 million membership fee for access, The Post reports.
SAFE plans to expand its network of high-tech bunkers across the country, with the first site near Washington, D.C.
The idea that such elite survival networks are already in the works raises more questions about the extent of the government’s secretive preparations.
While many may dismiss Fitts’ claims as conspiracy, they point to a disturbing trend of government secrecy and the increasing focus on elite bunkers.
Whether these underground facilities exist as she describes, or if they are simply a product of speculative research, the conversation about government spending and preparedness for global disasters is far from over.
The American public may soon demand more answers about the hidden activities their tax dollars are funding.
