A California Democrat admitted Wednesday that the illegal aliens the Trump administration is trying to deport are “my constituent.”
Rep. Norma Torres made the bombshell admission while holding a press conference to promote new legislation benefiting illegal aliens.
“Everyone living in my district is my constituent, and I am there to serve and be a public servant for them,” she said when pressed by a reporter about whether she considers illegals to be her constituents.
“Everyone who pays taxes is a constituent of all members of Congress, including immigrants who have filed for a tax ID and are denied any benefits,” she added.

I asked California Rep @NormaJTorres if she views illegal immigrants as her constituents.
Her answer? Yes!@DailySignal @StephenM pic.twitter.com/7FEApNwtnZ

Her stunning admission prompted massive anger and pushback on social media, where critics argued she has all the wrong priorities.
“Well of course she’s going to say that,” one critic wrote. “She doesn’t understand her job and has no idea what she’s actually supposed to do or stand for. She’s breaking her oath to office daily – namely, to uphold the constitution.”
“She’s adding and abiding criminals who have broken our laws to enter our country and should be held accountable and prosecuted for her actions!” another wrote.

Illegals cannot be constituents without rejecting the rights of citizens.

Another democrat that has no respect for the country she represents, just the culture to which she is loyal.

HELLLLLPPPP!! California is hostage to horrible Democrat leaders who want to import as many illegal aliens as possible to declare them citizens for their vote. Democrats are destroying our state.

The legislation Torres was promoting, the so-called Fairness to Freedom Act, would force the federal government to pay for the legal defense of any indigent illegal alien facing deportation.
“No one should have to go through immigration proceedings alone,” Torres said in a statement. “Unfortunately, under President Trump’s rhetoric and policies, the protection of due process rights has been undermined, and in some cases, denied entirely. That’s why I introduced the Fairness to Freedom Act—to ensure that everyone has their fair day in court, fully understands their rights’ and can communicate with their loved ones.”
“My constituents, and communities across the country, deserve to live with dignity, raise their families, access opportunities, and contribute to society. Universal representation is the key to making that a reality, standing as a safeguard against policies that threaten our shared values,” she added.
Today, I introduced the Fairness to Freedom Act—because no one should face deportation alone. Trump’s threats of mass deportations are real. We must protect due process and keep families together. It’s time for universal legal representation. #FairnessToFreedom… pic.twitter.com/paDAnIf4N8

During the press conference, Torres promoted the Fairness to Freedom Act as a way to put a halt to the deportation of illegal aliens.
“We all know that the system is designed to leave people in the dark without legal support so they can be railroaded through the system and taken out of our country,” she said. “But the Fairness to Freedom Act says, ‘Enough is enough’—if a detainee doesn’t get counseled in time, the deportation proceedings must be terminated with prejudice.”
Speaking by her side, Rep. Pramila Jayapal boasted that she, Torres, and Rep. Robert Garcia, who was also present, were “three of the less than two dozen naturalized citizens to serve in the United States Congress.”
“And so we know how tough the system is to navigate,” she said, adding that “decades of research clearly shows that immigrants with representation are 10 times more likely to obtain relief from deportation … and detained immigrants with representation are three-and-a-half times more likely to be granted bond, enabling their release.”
This enduring love for illegal aliens isn’t matched by an equal love for American citizens. The proof lies in the fact that Garcia and Torres voted against the Laken Riley Act, while Jayapal skipped the vote altogether.
Similarly, all three Democrats voted against the SAVE Act, which would, if enacted into law, require that wannabe voters show proof of citizenship before they’re allowed to cast their ballot.
