More disturbing details about the deported MS-13 gang banger who has been lionized by Democrats are emerging, and they don’t paint a pretty picture of Kilmar Abrego Garcia.
The so-called “Maryland man” has been turned into the left-wing party’s biggest martyr since George Floyd but appears to be far from the loving father and family man unfairly sent to El Salvador by President Trump that he’s been portrayed as, with newly unearthed documents suggesting that his wife feared him and that he abused her and the kids.
According to a 2020 Maryland court petition for protection obtained and reviewed by Fox News, Garcia’s wife, Jennifer Vasquez Sura, checks off boxes for abuse, including “kicking,” “slapping,” “shoving,” and “mental injury of a child.” Even more chillingly, Vasquez Sura alleges that her husband had boasted that he could kill her and nothing could be done about it.

The request states that “on Aug. 3, 2020, that her “husband took [her] phone around 1:00 a.m., and in the morning he wanted to take my car, but I told him I was going to go out with my kids. He then got angry. I went upstairs to make food for my kids, but he turned off the stove.”
In addition to the “Maryland dad” flying off the handle, it describes another incident when Garcia grabbed his wife “by the hair in the car” and “dragged” her “out of car leaving [her] in the street.”
Vasquez Sura also alleges that her husband “broke” her son’s tablet and “broke doors” and damaged walls, as well as “broke” a phone and television.
“I also have a [recording] that [he] told my ex-mother-in-law that even [if] he kills me, no one can do anything to him,” she wrote in the Aug. 3, 2020, document, which was filed with the District Court of Maryland for Prince George’s County.
The newly unearthed document comes after another temporary protective order from 2021 alleged that the Democrats’ pet thug committed acts of domestic violence against Vasquez Sura and that he “punched and scratched” her, “ripped off” her shirt, and “grabbed and bruised” her.
Instead of taking the word of law enforcement and judges that Garcia is a member of MS-13, a vicious foreign gang that’s been officially designated as a terrorist organization by the federal government, Democrats have instead made him their cause célèbre with several elected representatives traveling to El Salvador to put pressure on President Nayib Bukele to release him.
The visits have received much media attention and exposed the party to much criticism with one image of Sen. Chris Van Hollen (D-MD) sipping “margaritas” with the violent gangsta despite his not giving the time of day to the grieving mother of Rachel Morin, a Maryland mother of five who was brutally raped and murdered by an illegal alien who ambushed her on a hiking trail in 2023.

A quartet of far-left House Democrats also made a pilgrimage south with Reps. Robert Garcia (D-CA), Maxwell Frost (D-FL), Yassamin Ansari (AZ), and Maxine Dexter (OR), going to El Salvador to demand that Garcia be freed.
It’s turning out that they picked the wrong illegal to turn into their poster boy, and the anti-Trump website The Bulwark just reported that House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) has put the kibosh on any further trips to El Salvador, although he denies it.
One gets the feeling that the new documents are only the tip of the iceberg, and their rallying around the “Maryland man” is going to boomerang on the Democrats, if it hasn’t already.
