A federal judge appointed by former President Joe Biden has become the latest to stand in the way of President Donald Trump’s immigration agenda.
Breitbart News reports that Judge Jennifer Thurston, of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of California, has blocked Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) agents from conducting warrantless arrests of suspected illegal immigrants.
Thurston was installed on the federal bench by Biden during his administration which, once again, goes to show how judicial appointments are often one of a president’s most impactful duties.
Thurston issued her order on Tuesday.

It reports:
This week, Thurston issued a preliminary injunction that will prevent Border Patrol agents in California’s eastern district, the largest judicial district in the state, from carrying out arrests of suspected illegal aliens without a warrant and halting such arrests unless agents have a “reasonable suspicion” the suspect is an illegal alien.
A preliminary injunction is only temporary relief. It is not a ruling on the merits. As such, the case is only just getting started.
The injunction, however, does stop Trump, for now, at a time when the president and his administration would like to proceed with their illegal immigration agenda, rather than having to spend time battling things out in courtrooms.
The next question in this case is whether Attorney General Pam Bondi and the Department of Justice will appeal Thurston’s ruling. The answer, at the time of this writing, is unclear.
“I hope the Supreme Court…”
Trump and his administration, of course, have been going up against many judges, like Thurston, who have been installed in the federal judiciary by the likes of Biden, former President Barack Obama, and others.
The president was asked about the situation during a Cabinet meeting earlier this week.
Trump said:
We’re having some judge problems. We’re having some judges that don’t like, you know, killers, murderers, being thrown out of the country. So, I don’t know what their problem is, but we have a little difficulty.
The commander in chief went on to note that he “won on the basis of a great border and of getting criminals out of our country,” and he argued that these judges just “don’t want us to do what we’re supposed to do.”
Trump added, “I hope the Supreme Court is going to fully understand what’s going on. We have to get the criminals out of our country. And that’s the basis under which we won the election.”
