Metrics over mantras measured the impact that President Donald Trump’s mass deportation efforts had regarding terrorists alone, including detaining a man from one country’s most wanted list.
The impact of the Biden-Harris administration’s open border policies has proven wholly tangible and tragically so, as American citizens like Laken Riley and Rachel Morin were brutally murdered. Now, according to data from the Department of Homeland Security obtained by the New York Post, Trump’s efforts to restore national sovereignty have led to a 655% increase in arrests of known or alleged terrorists.
Accounting for the arrests made since Jan. 20, 2025, compared to the same period in 2024, Trump’s DHS has tallied 219 arrests against then-President Joe Biden’s 29.
“The Biden administration not only let a wanted terrorist into our country, but after he was arrested by Border Patrol agents, they released him into the interior of our country,” said DHS Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs Tricia McLaughlin in a statement to the New York Post. “While shocking, it’s not surprising given the Biden administration routinely released unvetted terrorists and criminals into American communities.”
McLaughlin specifically addressed the arrest of Indian national Harpreet Singh, who entered the United States on Jan. 27, 2022, and was considered one of the most wanted fugitives in his home country.
DHS noted that Singh’s alleged connections to terrorist activities included “planning more than a dozen grenade attacks on police officials.”
Likewise, the FBI announced the arrest last week in conjunction with ICE ERO and detailed the suspected connection between Singh and Babbar Khalsa International (BKI), a Khalistani terrorist group, as well as Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI).

“Under President Trump and Secretary Noem’s leadership, ICE is unleashed to remove these violent criminals from America’s streets and put an end to catch and release. We will hunt down, arrest, and lock up foreign terrorists and criminals who have operated with impunity on American soil,” added McLaughlin.
Meanwhile, as Singh was allegedly tied to funding, recruiting, and planning terrorist attacks, leftists continued to posture with calls for due process for illegal aliens, including through a PR trip to El Salvador, where Kilmar Abrego Garcia, said to be a member of the terrorist-designated MS-13 gang, had been deported.
In one such instance, Arizona Rep. Yassamin Ansari (D) was confronted by Fox News host Laura Ingraham over the trip asking, “What process is due Mr. Abrego Garcia in the United States that you believe he has not received or could receive if he’s undeported, which is the Democrats’ priority?”
For her defense, Ansari referred to the Supreme Court’s decision that the Trump administration had to “facilitate” Abrego Garcia’s return, leading the host to conclude, “We got it. You will never support the deportation of this individual. That is the truth. Congresswoman, we appreciate it.”
