A man who was turned away from viewing the Pope’s open casket inside St. Peter’s Basilica reacted angrily, claiming it was because he is black.
As he neared the front of the long queue to view the Pope’s body, the man was reportedly told that the worship services were suspended.
He then argued with security, saying that white people had been allowed to view the Pope and he was being denied “because I am black,” adding “even before God, you want to discriminate against us.”

He literally did the Ali-G meme.
The video has been viewed 13 million times at time of writing.
Others are sharing the footage, ridiculously claiming that the Vatican is operating a racist policy and turning away Africans and other people of colour.
The post has been Community noted, saying that the video likely shows security engaging in crowd control.
Others claim that the man is known to be mentally disturbed and that he hangs around outside the Vatican harassing people regularly.
This guy was not denied because he is black he was denied because he is a lunatic who makes a scene and harasses people in front of the Vatican regularly.
I am nearly certain this is the same guy I recorded acting this way last year when I went to Rome. https://t.co/gwk1KuK3mh pic.twitter.com/cPOE46a3TW

Respondents pointed out that he was likely turned away for just being a dick.
Could it be because he’s an asshole?

Imagine thinking that you prove you’re the victim of racism by starting to shout and scream at such an occasion…

He should not be kicking off about “racism” at a solemn event. Doing that is disrespectful.

I mean… if worship services were suspended, I see a bunch of white people who don’t get to say goodbye as well?
I also have a feeling there were black people ahead of this guy and they said good bye…
Are you telling us that this one guy represents all of the black people who…

All you see is racism. You missed the entire line of people waiting in the video because one guy couldn’t control himself. Despicable.

Not everything that happens to a person with black skin is a conspiracy or racism. Sometimes it’s just normal stuff that happens. Look inward
