The King has attracted criticism for becoming directly involved in political issues.
He has shared a rare message on energy transition, which was read by Energy Secretary Ed Miliband at a summit focused on the future of energy security.
The monarch, who has long been known for his interest in environmental issues, emphasised the importance of well-managed transitions to more sustainable energy sources.
Miliband told attendees that the summit was “something that [King Charles] was very much personally interested in”.
The King’s intervention comes at a time when energy security and sustainability have become increasingly important topics in national discourse.
Charles may believe he has a duty to save the world, but the whole question of Net Zero and the energy transition is clearly one that is going to massively impact his subjects.
As has been rightly said, the late Queen would not have gone anywhere near such a controversial and overtly political topic.
