Since liberalism married climate in the church of science, the global network of the climate cult has been ringing alarm bells of all frequencies. We’ve been told that our cars, bikes, boats and anything running on gas are all bad for releasing carbon into the atmosphere; that our food is bad for environment so we should eat bugs; that our cattle is bad because they fart and degrade the environment so we should east artificial meat; and now they say our dogs are a problem for the environment.
The dirtball of a so-called study was tossed to public nuisance earlier this month in one of the countless so-called peer-reviewed scientific journals. Titled “Bad dog? The environmental effects of owned dogs,” this study was authored by two researchers from Curtin University in Western Australia and published in the journal Pacific Conservation Biology on April 10. The paper reads like a hastily compiled list of anything and everything bad about dogs that the authors could find from whatever sources available that would demonize dogs. Even social media memes depicting dogs negatively were included as evidence of how bad dogs are for the environment and ecology.
The major points of the op-ed style paper by the Australian duo include:
- Dogs kill as well as disturb the life-cycles of many species.
- Dogs poop and urinate, which can disturb the lives of other animals deterred by their smell.
- Dogs can pollute waterways and affect plants.
- There are too many dogs and they are contributing to the global carbon emissions.
In short, the authors present the “bad dog” problem in their paper’s abstract as:
We argue that the environmental impact of owned dogs is far greater, more insidious, and more concerning than is generally recognised.
Soon as this joke of a paper was published in the journal, leftist media started promoting it in its usual fear-porn manner. The Guardian wrote about it under the headline, “Pet dogs have ‘extensive and multifarious’ impact on environment, new research finds.” Leftist rag Mother Jones chose the word “villain” to describe dogs: “Bad News for Man’s Best Friend: Dogs Are Environmental Villains.” SciTechDaily called dogs “major climate threat” in its story the following day.
When the globalist junk science dealers create such a targeted narrative, the skeptic naturally wonders about the underlying motive. Liberals have long pretended to champion animal rights. But dogs have traditionally been treated and seen as friends in the western civilization and a typical conservative family in America and the west keeps a dog or two. So using the familiar bad-for-climate line to villainize dogs more than likely has an undisclosed motive or even a plan for what’s coming. Could it be imposing new regulations on dog ownership? Maybe another tax like the one Denmark passed last year for owners of farm animals? We can only guess for now and it’s best to prepare for the fight ahead in loyalty to our most loyal pawed companion.
