The elites are beside themselves with desperation and it shows. The latest stories coming out of the reporters who cover the Pentagon for the Alphabet Networks reek, in every way. The latest stories after the Signal Part Duh Redux are that that incompetent, unworthy, likely alcoholic talk show host diva, Pete Hegseth, needs a make-up room and mirror to prep for tv appearances. The media actual write these stories with a straight face.
The latest hit job is the story of the Pentagon make-up room. Salon.com, in trying to make Hegseth look bad, pounced on the story of Hegseth refurbishing the Pentagon green room into a make-up room so that Hegseth would be camera ready for his television hits. Like this:
Recent news reports have given Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth plenty of reason to sweat under the bright lights, but he still doesn’t want people to know where he fixes his makeup.
The former Fox News host turned head of the Department of Defense raged over a CBS News report that he installed a makeup studio just outside of the Pentagon’s press briefing room. The outlet shared that Hegseth had spent “several thousand dollars” to add a new chair and mirror with makeup lighting in the green room.
“Totally fake story,” Hegseth wrote on X. “No ‘orders’ and no ‘makeup’ — but whatever.”
Hegseth went on to suggest that the “leftist ‘news’ media” would rather see him install “tampon machines in every men’s bathroom at DoD.”
A Pentagon spokesperson was more measured in its response, saying there was nothing novel about changes to Pentagon decor in a statement to CBS News.

Even Marines, God forgive me for this blasphemy, can be elitist twats. Take Rep. Jake Auchincloss, who represents the Fourth District of Massachusetts and was a Marine officer. Even after the story was refuted, today Auchincloss played partisan hack because he is small and jealous:

Nutless monkeys (Les Grossman, Tropic Thunder) get it right more often than Auchincloss. He thinks Hegseth spent three months building a make-up studio? I remember Secretary Hegseth working out with troops all over the world for the last three months:
