Blessed with wealth, fame, and striking height, Barron Trump has a lot going for him, socially. If only he weren’t the son of the U.S. president.
According to the Page Six, Secret Service has barred Barron from giving out his phone number to peers at his college in New York, where he’s studying business. It’s another example of how the 19-year-old’s social life has been impacted by his peculiar circumstances.
Barron blocked from…
While his presence regularly draws attention on New York University’s campus, for his safety, the college freshman must take precautions when socializing with peers. This has meant turning to online gaming chat rooms to connect with people his age.
Sources reported to PageSix that Barron is finding social connections in “gamer bro culture” through Discord and Xbox.
“He has added it to his repertoire,” the source said of his Xbox usage. “It’s his communication platform of choice.”
The source told the outlet that handing out his phone number “creates more trouble than it’s worth.”
“If people get the number, they would give it out and then a million people would be calling non stop,” the person said. “You’d have to change the number constantly and it’d become a merry-go-round.”
Missing out?
Next to nothing is known about Barron’s private life, as he has been sheltered from the media spotlight since childhood. His enigmatic public image has only fueled interest in his future plans.
Barron’s silence has left his vocal father to fill in the gaps. In a recent Fox News interview, President Trump gushed over his son’s knack for technology, speculating he might go down that path instead of entering politics.
As far as romance is concerned, it’s clear that Barron faces constraints, but he may not be missing out on much.
In fact, many members of Barron’s Generation Z are embracing the slower rhythms of dating for commitment – as young people today reckon with the loneliness, confusion, and remorse created by the “hookup culture” that has dominated college campuses in recent years.
While President Trump’s romantic exploits became tabloid fodder in his own youth, his youngest son cuts a more reserved figure. President Trump even admitted last year that his “good-looking” son had never had a girlfriend before.
“I’m not sure he’s there yet. I don’t think he’s had a girlfriend yet,” Trump said of Barron.
“He doesn’t mind being alone, but he’s somebody that gets along with people,” Trump added at the time.
