Men competing in women’s sports is unfair, unsafe, and completely out of step with common sense—yet it’s a radical idea the Democrat Party now fully embraces. As Chairman of the Senate Commerce Committee, which has jurisdiction over athletics and the Olympics, I’m actively engaging in oversight to hold organizations like USA Fencing accountable. Disqualifying a female athlete simply because she refused to compete against a male is wrong.

Every Senate Democrat recently voted against protecting girls from being forced to compete against boys—every single one.

That’s not just extreme, it’s dangerous. I’m the father of two daughters, and like millions of parents across this country, I know the truth: boys and girls are different. Women’s sports matter. They provide real opportunities for young girls, and they deserve to be protected. We will not let the left erase women’s sports in the name of radical gender ideology. “The Democrat party has decided there is no difference between men and women. It is unfair to force girls to compete against boys in sports and to force women to compete against men… And so I’m engaging in oversight to find out how many biological men are competing, how often are they winning, how many injuries have occurred, and what are they doing to comply with federal law? Because if they don’t comply with federal law, there will be serious consequences.

I  am committed to ensuring that America continues to lead in space for generations to come.
