Washington, D.C. — In a devastating blow to the Soros-backed resistance machine, the House of Representatives PASSED H.R. 22—the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility or SAVE Act—on Thursday. The bill requires documentary proof of U.S. citizenship to vote in federal elections. Final vote: 220-208, with four House Democrats breaking ranks to join Republicans.
This win for the Trump Agenda came after House Democrats tried every delay tactic in the book. The week prior, they worked overtime to obstruct the bill.
This was a direct hit on the radical Left’s narrative. Their cries of “voter suppression” just went up in smoke. Americans are DONE with illegal voting—and the House just made that clear.

The bill is now with the Senate, where the real filibuster battle begins—a critical test for election integrity and Trump-backed voter ID reform.
The 2024 SAVE Act did not receive a vote in the Democrat controlled the Senate (51-49). Schumer killed it.
The SAVE Act provides a common-sense, simple measure to close the vulnerability of non-citizen votes being cast in federal elections. The text of the bill stipulates that “a State may not register an individual to vote in elections for Federal office held in the State unless, at the time the individual applies to register to vote, the individual provides documentary proof of United States citizenship.” Additionally, the bill mandates that every state create a system to identify and remove noncitizens from voter rolls. The legislation urges states to use data from the Department of Homeland Security, state agencies that verify citizenship for documents like driver’s licenses, and the Social Security Administration’s Number Verification Service.
As The Washington Stand reported, nearly four million noncitizens were handed Social Security numbers under the Biden administration. Even more disturbing—an internal review by the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) uncovered that many of these noncitizens were not only registered to vote—they had already cast ballots in U.S. elections.

This isn’t the first time Democrats have broken ranks. In July 2024, five Democrats voted with Republicans to pass H.R. 8281—the first iteration of the SAVE Act. The Biden White House vehemently opposed it. Didn’t matter. The rebellion had begun.

Thursday, four House Democrats—Case, Cuellar, Golden, and Perez—voted YES to secure our elections and put citizens first. The bombshell: Ed Case, who didn’t vote for the bill in 2024, flipped in 2025. That’s not a crack—it’s a breach.
This isn’t the first time Congressman Case has surprised Democrats by going against the party line. In March, he was one of 10 House Democrats to vote with Republicans to censure Rep. Al Green (D-TX) for his disruptive behavior during Trump’s address to Congress.
In an email to Honolulu Civil Beat, Congressman Case defended his SAVE Act vote, emphasizing that noncitizen voting is illegal and that the bill ensures consistent documentation standards for citizenship. He dismissed voter suppression concerns as overstated. In response, Indivisible Hawaii launched a campaign urging constituents to flood his office with complaints. According to Case’s spokesperson Nestor Garcia, the calls have been relentless—and the campaign has spread nationally.
In an op-ed published in the Bangor Daily News on July 2, 2024, Congressman Jared Golden of Maine wrote that he knew Donald Trump was going to win the election and he was OK with it. Golden emphasized the election was about the economy—not democracy.
“There are winners and losers in every election… the idea that a Trump victory is not just a political loss, but a unique threat to our democracy…I reject the premise. Unlike Biden and many others, I refuse to participate in a campaign to scare voters with the idea that Trump will end our democratic system.”
