Over the last couple of months, Democratic Rep. Jahana Hayes has considered her vote in favor of the Laken Riley Act, which was passed in January. She regrets this deeply and wishes she had voted differently.
If you needed any more evidence that the majority of Democrats are all in it to protect criminal aliens over Americans, here it is:
Do you need any more proof that the left despises you?
According to Wikipedia:
“The Laken Riley Act is a United States law that requires the U.S. Department of Homeland Security to detain illegal immigrants admitting to, charged with, or convicted of theft-related crimes, assaulting a police officer, or a crime that results in death or serious bodily injury like drunk driving.”
This is about criminal aliens who have committed further crimes post-facto, and it’s unclear how anyone can have a problem with that, especially to the point that she thinks about it for months.
The opposite of a ‘yes’ vote would be a commitment to making it easier for illegal immigrants to commit crimes against law-abiding Americans. Is that what she would prefer? Would that have helped her sleep better at night?
Does she not realize that her official position is to represent the American people and not foreign nationals who commit crimes in this country? Because I think she does recognize that but couldn’t care less.
It’s also possible that it’s not the vote she regrets but the backlash from those she is beholden to, but that is neither here nor there. She has proven that she does not represent the American people. Whether that be the bureaucracy or criminal aliens, it does not matter, as there is no more evidence needed to conclude it’s not you.
