According to Whoopi Goldberg, Americans need to “suck it up” and give more money to failing schools.
The most insane thing about this is not that a millionaire is demanding you fork over your hard-earned cash to a failing system, but that the public school system is the only entity to get rewarded for being an utter failure.
So, according to Goldberg, it does not matter if the school produces the worst outcomes, as she believes that is nothing more than YOUR problem.
Does she not realize that the majority of Americans live paycheck to paycheck? Does she even care? And given that most Americans come through the public school system and many struggle to make ends meet, it would appear that this is a system that continues to give failing results, and that is definitely not something that should be rewarded with more money.
According to Chalk Beat, “On reading, 19.7% of Chicago third graders met or exceeded standards on the 2023 test, while nearly 21% of them passed math.”
That is not something that more funding can fix.
Why is it that the more something fails, the more cash the left demands? It’s almost as if they blame everyone else for their failures.
Whether she knows it or not, she’s also advocating that poor people pay more when they are already struggling. It’s not the case that the wealthiest areas have the worst schools or libraries falling apart. So, we can almost be certain she does not live in an area that would need more taxes by her arbitrary requirement.
How many failing schools and libraries has she even donated to? Because I would assume close to zero, and the fact that she wants people who are nowhere near as wealthy as her to fund this nonsense proves how much she lacks self-awareness.
