Whoopi Goldberg says egg prices have not come down one cent

The View co-host Whoopi Goldberg has been caught in yet another lie.

After watching silently as egg prices skyrocketed during the Biden administration, the ladies of the ABC talk panel are suddenly concerned with where current costs are sitting.

Goldberg stated that the price of eggs has not gone down at all since Trump has been in office, but that is just not true.

When Biden took office, the average price of a dozen eggs was $1.41. That went up to $4.14 per dozen in December 2024.

The rise in cost was due to two factors: energy prices and the bird flu.

Rising energy prices were a direct result of Biden policies, while the bird flu would have hurt anyone, but that illness in the poultry industry continued to impact prices in the early days of the Trump administration.

By the time Trump took office in January, eggs were sitting at $6.41 per dozen, rising to $8.27 at their height.

The average price today is $3.23 per dozen.

Even so, Goldberg stated, “[Trump] did promise to lower the price of groceries, I have not seen an egg fall one cent since this man got in.”

I can tell you from personal experience that eggs had decreased significantly at local stores.

In December, I paid $5.99 for a dozen eggs, and in my last grocery order, that price was down to $3.98 per dozen, which is still the current price.

Also, realize that the government is issuing wholesale egg prices in its reports, and it does take some time for vendors to drop their prices based on demand.

If things continue down the path they have been, in a few months, we should see egg prices under $3.00 per dozen again at the store.

As local farmers rebuild their chicken supplies, and we are able to produce more eggs domestically, the prices will fall even more, but that will take some time considering more than 100 million chickens were lost and we are still having problems with bird flu in this country.

I just find it rather amusing that of all things, this is now their attack against Donald Trump, when they all sat on their hands and stayed mum as prices soared during the Biden administration.

Trump has been in office for less than three months, so it will take time for his policies to take effect, but this is the state of the media today.

Forget the facts, ignore problems when Democrats create them, and only hold the right accountable.
