President Donald Trump continues to wreak havoc on Obama and Biden-era policies.
His latest attack relates to what he calls the “war on showers” launched by the two previous Democrat administrations.
This week, Trump signed yet another executive order to put more pressure in your showerhead.
Feel that shower
This may sound like a silly battle to pick, but I can tell you, I, along with many of my friends, get frustrated over the lack of pressure in our showers due to showerhead regulations to save water and energy.
I understand the thought process, but taking a shower in what amounts to be drizzling water is pretty frustrating.
Trump feels the same way, stating, “In my case, I like to take a nice shower to take care of my beautiful hair.”
The president continued, “I have to stand in the shower for 15 minutes until it gets wet. It comes out — drip, drip, drip. It’s ridiculous.”
Trump had revoked the Obama regulations when he was in office the first time, but Biden put similar regulations in place when he took over in 2021.
Biden, at the time, stated, “As many parts of America experience historic droughts, this commonsense proposal means consumers can purchase showerheads that conserve water and save them money on their utility bills.”
The Trump White House also put out a statement on the matter, which read, “Overregulation chokes the American economy, entrenches bureaucrats, and stifles personal freedom.”
The statement went on, “By restoring shower freedom, President Trump is honoring his commitment to cut unnecessary regulations and put Americans first.”
Trump also hinted that he may ask Congress to take up this battle to get the changes on the books, so we no longer have to worry about executive orders every time a new president comes into office.
The president is also looking to have Congress address the infamous paper straw issue, which has plenty of people frustrated.
It is rather amazing how such small issues infuriate people, but I get it. Those paper straws last about five minutes, if you are lucky, before they start collapsing.
These moves are also Trump deflecting away from other issues that have created some negative headlines for the administration.
The stock market has been all over the place due to the tariff wars, and the administration has had some information security issues, so this is, in part, how Trump deals with negative news cycles.
Create a new narrative, just keep on making announcements, and the bad stuff finds its way right out of the news cycle.
It also gives the perception that the administration is not standing still, something of which Donald Trump will never be accused as president.
