China made a threat that sent chills down the backs of many in Hollywood. They are going to partially ban some films from being shown in their nation as “punishment” for the increased tariffs President Donald Trump has leveled on them.
Apparently, they don’t realize that President Trump doesn’t care for Hollywood because Hollywood generally hates President Trump. His response was perfect.
According to The Post Millennial:
In response to China saying that it would reduce the number of US films imported into the country in response to the latest round of tariffs placed on the country by President Donald Trump, the US leader laughed off the action from China in a cabinet meeting saying, “I think I’ve heard of worse things.”
The China Film Administration said on Thursday that it would “moderately reduce” the number of American films imported in response to the latest wave of tariffs. Trump on Wednesday increased tariffs on China to 125 percent, and cut some tariffs on countries that were negotiating with the US.
The trade war is going to bring a certain level of pain to Americans until China comes to their senses, puts their pride in check, and realizes they can’t win unless they work with President Trump. But this particular piece of “pain” is going to harm their own citizens more than it hurts the White House.
