Biden White House officials may have been secretly coordinating with Special Counsel Jack Smith’s team in their investigation against former President Trump. New evidence suggests the Justice Department isn’t as independent as Americans thought. Which is what Republicans have been saying for the longest time…
At a glance:
• House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan is investigating meetings between Jack Smith’s top aide Jay Bratt and Biden White House officials
• Bratt reportedly met with White House officials multiple times in 2021 during Trump’s document negotiations with the National Archives
• Whistleblowers revealed Biden White House helped FBI secure Trump and Pence’s phones before Trump was even a subject of investigation
• GOP Senators Johnson and Grassley claim emails show Biden White House was directly involved in “Arctic Frost” investigation targeting Trump
• Republicans are demanding all communications between DOJ officials and the Biden White House related to Trump investigations
White House Involvement Raises Serious Questions
Newly uncovered evidence suggests troubling coordination between the Biden administration and Special Counsel Jack Smith’s investigation of former President Donald Trump. Republican lawmakers have launched formal inquiries after discovering multiple meetings between Smith’s top aide and White House officials before Trump’s indictment.
House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan is leading an investigation into Jay Bratt, a Department of Justice employee and top aide to Special Counsel Jack Smith. According to Jordan, Bratt met with White House officials multiple times in 2021, precisely when Trump’s lawyers were negotiating with the National Archives about presidential records.
Most concerning was a March 31, 2023 meeting between Bratt, White House Counsel’s Office Deputy Chief of Staff Caroline Saba, and FBI Special Agent Danielle Ray for what was described as a “case-related interview.” The meeting occurred just nine weeks before Smith indicted Trump, raising questions about political influence in what should be an independent investigation.

Whistleblowers Reveal “Arctic Frost” Operation
Senators Ron Johnson and Chuck Grassley have unveiled even more disturbing details about an FBI operation codenamed “Arctic Frost” targeting former President Trump. Whistleblowers provided emails showing direct Biden White House involvement in securing Trump and Pence’s government cell phones before Trump was even a formal subject of investigation.
“The Committee on the Judiciary is continuing its oversight of the Biden Justice Department’s commitment to impartial justice and its handling of a special counsel investigation against President Biden’s chief opponent in the upcoming presidential election,” stated Chairman Jim Jordan. “This new information raises serious concerns regarding the potential for a coordinated effort between the Department and the White House to investigate and prosecute President Biden’s political opponents.”

The communication trail includes an email exchange between then-Deputy White House Counsel Jonathan Su and Criminal Chief John Crabb discussing coordination for picking up the phones. “Jonathan, Would you please coordinate with Tim Thibault (who’s copied on this email) about picking up the telephones,” wrote Crabb in one of the exposed communications.
By May 4, 2022, the FBI had taken possession of phones used by Trump and Pence.
Additional Ethical Concerns Emerge
Republicans have previously raised concerns about Bratt’s alleged improper pressure on a lawyer representing a Trump employee. According to reports, Bratt allegedly commented to the lawyer that he didn’t think the lawyer was a “Trump guy” and that “he would do the right thing.”
Bratt reportedly referenced the lawyer’s application for a judgeship on the D.C. Superior Court, implying the application would be received more favorably if his client cooperated with the prosecution against Trump. This allegation, if true, represents a serious breach of prosecutorial ethics and political weaponization of the justice system.
Senators Johnson and Grassley are demanding full transparency, requesting all DOJ and FBI records related to the Arctic Frost investigation by April 21.
